Overview:
WiredPeople is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Hours of operation for the facility are 24 hours, 7 days a week from 6am-6pm and 6pm- 6am, weekend and holiday shifts are primarily needed. The ideal candidate will be able to work a minimum of a 36 hours per week schedule. This position is full-time and onsite in Higginsville, MO. Essential Functions:
- Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with individualized care and habilitation plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor for adverse reactions or changes in condition
- Perform and document clinical assessments, including vital signs, wound care, and monitoring of chronic conditions
- Supervise and support Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to ensure quality and continuity of care
- Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in resident status, including initiating appropriate interventions and notifying medical staff
- Participate in the development, implementation, and review of individual support plans (ISPs)
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic and paper health records, complying with all regulatory requirements
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, interdisciplinary team members, and external providers
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and facility policies
- Promote a respectful, therapeutic, and person-centered environment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Missouri LPN license (required)
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED (required); completion of accredited practical nursing program
- CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred
- Ability to perform medication administration, wound care, and routine clinical procedures in compliance with state regulations
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond effectively in emergency or behavioral situations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to supervise and collaborate with CNAs and other support staff
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and other state-required screenings
