Department Summary


The San Francisco Housing Platform (SFHP) represents a portfolio of programs within the Northern California Housing Services Department that provide scattered-site supportive housing and rapid rehousing to individuals exiting or at risk of experiencing homelessness. The Housing Platform is supported by the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH). The goal of the SFHP is to offer a streamlined set of tools to support individuals in becoming and staying successfully housed.

To serve the Housing Platform, Brilliant Corners identifies and secures units across the Bay Area, provides move-in assistance and rental subsidy disbursements, coordinates with case managers, and assists with neighborhood relations.

Position Summary


SFHP Program Supervisors work closely with the Associate Director, Program Manager and Housing Acquisitions Manager to scale the SFHP and meet the ambitious goal of housing San Franciscans experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Each Program Supervisor will manage 4-8 Housing Coordinators and one Senior Housing Coordinator who, in turn, provide housing retention services to individuals accessing supportive housing in San Francisco. Program Supervisors support the onboarding of new staff, ensure consistent implementation of program policies and procedures, and cultivate the talent of their team to provide professional, timely support to our clients and partners.

Program Supervisors will work with the Program Manager to conduct team meetings and facilitate individual supervision for Housing Coordinators. Program Supervisors communicate regularly with partnering agencies (referring agencies and case management partners) to ensure that tenant care is well-coordinated and adherent to Housing First principles. The Program Supervisor will work creatively to prevent eviction and other housing-related issues.

Position Responsibilities


· Supervision· Hires, trains, and mentors direct reports in consultation with the Program Manager and the People Operations Department.· Represents the Program and Organization to external partners and the community.· Holds team meetings to discuss program issues, provides global insight, and motivates.· Coordinates training for new staff.· Coordinates with heads of departments to assess and identify areas of concern, or of needed improvement· Tenant Services· Provides advisement/direction on all tenant issues using a client-centered approach.· Liaison with Intensive Case Management Services.· Ensure the department has a high standard of tenant services quality standards.· Ensure every tenant has a great experience throughout the life of their tenancy, beginning at move-in.· Foster positive relations between landlords and tenants to promote tenant retention and makes routine home visits.· Facilitates data collection, file audits, and periodic reports.· Adheres to program budget and maintains records of direct program expenses.· Compliance· Monitors compliance with government and other funder rules and regulations.· Provides complete and accurate documentation of all regulatory requirements.· Stays abreast and comply with all state tenant/landlord laws.· Other tasks and projects assigned

Requirements


Professional Experience


· Demonstrated leadership ability, such as: supporting other staff, training colleagues, or facilitating meetings· At least one year of proven experience working with homeless or other extremely vulnerable individuals in a housing or similar program.· Willing to travel and make multiple visits to the field· Experience working in a crisis setting a plus and ability to respond appropriately in an emergency

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


· Knowledge of supportive housing· Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and reasonable accommodations· Excellent verbal and written communication skills· Strong interpersonal skills· Access to adequate transportation· Basic computer knowledge, MS Word and Excel required; PowerPoint preferred· Flexibility required regarding scheduling and prioritizing of tasks· Ability to utilize critical thinking skills in decision-making situations, good organizational and record-keeping skills, and good independent judgment· Ability to work independently

Physical Requirements


Candidates should have physical mobility for tasks such as standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces. They should be capable of performing stationary tasks like sitting for up to 6 to 8 hours a day. Additionally, candidates should be able to lift, carry, push, pull light to moderate weights up to 15 pounds safely. Requires mental acuity for analytical reasoning and document interpretation.Salary range for this position is 68,650 $90,523 annually.
