Knix is looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our growing Technology team. This hands-on role will play a key part in building and scaling a modern data platform that powers decision-making across the business. You’ll work with a stack that includes Snowflake, DBT, FiveTran, Airbyte, AWS, and Looker—developing robust pipelines, shaping our data models, and partnering cross-functionally to unlock insights that drive growth.The ideal candidate is a builder at heart—curious, detail-oriented, and relentless in their pursuit of scalable, high-quality data.

DATA PIPELINES & INTEGRATIONS


  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using FiveTran, Airbyte, and custom Python workflows
  • Manage data ingestion and transformation across AWS services including S3, Lambda, Glue, and Athena
  • Monitor pipeline performance and implement logging, alerting, and troubleshooting as needed

DATA MODELING & TRANSFORMATION


  • Administer and optimize Knix’s Snowflake environment including role-based access, cost efficiency, and query performance
  • Develop and maintain scalable data models in Snowflake, using both dimensional and normalized design patterns
  • Build and maintain reusable transformation logic in DBT to deliver high-quality, analysis-ready datasets

DATA INSIGHTS & ENABLEMENT


  • Partner closely with engineering, analytics, and business teams to understand data needs and deliver clean, governed datasets
  • Design and optimize Looker explores, views, and dashboards to enable self-serve analytics
  • Apply best practices in data quality, documentation, and governance to ensure trust in our data

SCALABILITY & EXCELLENCE


  • Champion data engineering best practices, including version control, testing, and peer reviews
  • Support performance tuning and optimization across the data stack
  • Stay on top of emerging tools and trends in the modern data ecosystem to drive innovation at Knix

Qualifications:


  • 7+ years of experience in software and/or data engineering, with at least 4 years focused on data engineering or analytics engineering
  • Deep hands-on experience with Snowflake, DBT, FiveTran, and Looker in a production environment
  • Proficiency in Python for data workflows, automation, and orchestration
  • Strong SQL skills and experience designing scalable, performant data models
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, and Athena
  • Familiarity with Airbyte or similar tools for custom data ingestion
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Understanding of data governance, access control, and system performance tuning

Bonus Points:


  • Experience working with Shopify, NetSuite, or Segment
  • Background in e-commerce, SaaS, or financial analytics environments
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow, Dagster, or similar
