The Executive Director of Field Sales and Education is responsible for all aspects of managing the Domestic Field Sales team and Education team. This includes achieving retail sales goals, staying within budgets, and recruiting, retaining, coaching, developing, and motivating all talent in the field. In this role, you will work to develop and grow the business in partnership with retailers and the corporate office team by building strong collaborative relationships focused on generating retail sales and growing market share.
Additionally, this position will be responsible for evolving the field sales strategy to align with the company’s overall business objectives, as well as developing and executing successful long-term business-building strategies analyzing business trends and competitive activity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Leadership:
- Build a professional team of Regional Sales Directors and Territory Sales Managers that are engaged to achieve retail sales goals. Recruit, interview, coach, develop, and motivate the entire field team.
- Develop and implement comprehensive, innovative sales strategies directing the Regional Sales Directors to ensure the achievement of retail sales goals and market share targets.
- Lead by example, using a collaborative approach to finding win-win solutions with internal and external partners.
- Nurture an environment that promotes collaboration and empowerment, fostering innovative ideas and continuous improvement to align with company objectives.
- Responsible for achieving a total retail sales plan in the US and Canada.
- Responsible for attaining objectives of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as defined by the company.
- Responsible for managing all field-related budgets, including freelance and travel expenses.
- Work closely with the SVP Domestic & Field Sales and VP of Human Resources on organizational development, focusing on communication, team building, and skill development.
- Collaborate with ABH corporate teams to improve and enhance all aspects of the brand’s presence in stores, including visual merchandising, space and location, inventory flow, promotional collateral, educational tools, etc.
- Collaborate closely with Sales Administration, Education, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to all sales initiatives.
Planning, Analysis, and Reporting:
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to inform strategic decision-making.
- Supervise seasonal planning by region, door, and account to maximize business.
- Utilize analytics to determine distribution channels, retail sales policies, and the sales force structure.
- Keep senior leadership informed of sales department activities and outcomes, including key results vs. budget, retail performance, ranking, market trends, etc.
- Provide efficient feedback to appropriate corporate colleagues regarding ABH strategies, trainings, and selling tools/techniques. Contribute insights to product development by leveraging market feedback and sales trends.
Education & Esthetician Services:
- Formulate and execute strategic education plans that support retail and service growth, brand consistency, and team capability across all markets.
- Lead the Education team in the development of innovative, scalable training programs (in-person and virtual) that align with the brand’s sales objectives and evolving industry trends.
- Oversee creation and continuous refinement of education content, including product knowledge, artistry, selling techniques, onboarding curricula, and leadership development for field and store team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Product Development, Marketing, Sales) to ensure training materials are aligned with brand priorities and launch timelines.
- Build a comprehensive certification and skill advancement structure to drive field performance and elevate service execution.
- Establish KPIs and assessment tools to measure the effectiveness of education programs, incorporating field feedback and retail performance metrics.
- Lead and coach a high-performing education team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and brand ambassadorship.
- Partner with field leadership and retailer education partners to ensure consistent delivery and execution of training in all locations.
- Remain current on industry education trends and competitive approaches to training and field development.
- Support salon services through targeted technical education, ensuring licensed professionals are trained in brand-specific service techniques and state board-compliant practices.
- Ensure all training initiatives promote a client-centric approach and support an elevated customer experience at every touchpoint.
- Implement best practices and standards to maintain high service quality and consistency across all locations.
- Develop and manage budgets for salon services, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Collaborate with account management colleagues to monitor key financial metrics and implement strategies to optimize salon services profitability.
- Stay abreast of all State Board regulations and licensing requirements relevant to the salon services industry.
Requirements
- 8+ years of cosmetics retail experience.
- 6+ years of national or global sales management experience.
- Minimum 5 years of people management experience of sales teams of at least 20+ people
- Demonstrated history of achievements in field sales and education leadership positions within the cosmetics industry.
- Demonstrated experience enhancing revenues and profitability for key accounts.
- A comprehensive understanding of the prestige cosmetics market in the US and Canada.
- Proven capacity to guide and motivate a high-performing sales team.
- A forward-thinking planner capable of transforming ideas into practical, actionable plans.
- Demonstrates exceptional verbal and written communication abilities when interacting with individuals at various levels both within and outside the organization
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in excelling within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to track and monitor a large amount of retail data and make strategic decisions based on sales analysis.
- Advanced technology skills, mostly with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI).
- This role requires weekly national travel (approximately 20%).
- This role can be based in Los Angeles or New York City.
Anastasia Beverly Hills offers a competitive compensation package with full benefits and a 401(K) plan with matching contributions from the company. The starting base salary range for this position in the selected city is $160,000.00 - $180,000.00 yearly. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and geographical location. Base pay is one part of the total compensation package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
This role is bonus eligible.
