The Role:

As our Chief Medical Officer, you will serve as the clinical face of the company, overseeing and optimizing our clinical strategy and operations, ensuring our solutions align with real-world clinical needs. You will participate in our Provider and Life Science sales cycles working cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Customer Success, and Engineering, ensuring our offerings not only meet the highest standards of clinical credibility but are also intuitive for clinicians to adopt and deliver strong financial ROI.You’ll act as a key thought partner to the CEO and with the executive team, helping steer strategic decisions with a clinician’s eye, and serve as a respected leader across our company culture.

You Will:

  • Provide clinical leadership and strategic oversight for the deployment of AI-enabled care pathways across oncology, cardiology, neurology, and beyond.
  • Lead a team of SMEs and clinical pathway professionals to ensure successful implementation at high-impact hospitals, with buy-in from both clinical and financial stakeholders.
  • Serve as a key partner to the CEO and CPO to shape the product roadmap — ensuring it addresses the most urgent needs and opportunities in healthcare and positions Viz.ai as the orchestration layer across providers, pharma, and payers.
  • Represent Viz.ai as a visible thought leader in oncology, cardiology and other specialties — presenting at major conferences, guiding clinical research, and contributing to the broader dialogue on the future of AI in healthcare.
  • Translate the complex realities of clinical care into actionable business and product strategy, ensuring our solutions are both clinically credible and commercially successful.
  • Act as a trusted partner to health system leaders and practicing physicians — guiding workflow design, optimizing adoption, and “speaking clinical” without sounding like sales.

Who You Are:

  • Clinical roots: You’ve worked in a hospital or health system on the clinical side and understand the real-world pace, pressure, and complexity of care delivery
  • Workflow fluent: You can dissect and map complex clinical workflows, and you know how to work with clinicians, and how to sell to them
  • Financially Savvy: Understand how money flows in healthcare — across providers (RCM), pharma, and payers — and blends that with clinical insight to shape effective go-to-market strategies.
  • Oncology experience: Preferably you’ve had direct experience in oncology, and you understand its unique workflows and challenges
  • Scrappy + smart: You’re entrepreneurial, fast-moving, highly organized, and energized by problem-solving in new markets
  • Credible + respected: You bring a track record of leadership in world renown, high-performing clinical organizations (health systems, tech-enabled services, or healthtech companies)
  • Cultural fit: You’re someone our team will look up to — not just for your credentials, but for your character, energy, and collaborative spirit
  • AI Native: You treat AI as a core part of your workflow, using tools like ChatGPT to enhance productivity and output.

Qualifications:

  • MD, DO, NP, PA, or RN required (oncology care background preferred)
  • 10+ years of clinical and/or clinical leadership experience
  • 3–5+ years in a healthtech, digital health, or tech-enabled services company in a senior leadership role
  • Experience interfacing with product, commercial, and executive teams
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and dive in — no consulting here

Life at Viz.ai

Viz.ai, Inc is emerging as the leader in applied artificial intelligence in healthcare. Our mission is to fundamentally improve how healthcare is delivered in the world, through intelligent software that promises to reduce time to treatment and improve access to care. Our flagship product, Viz LVO, leverages advanced deep learning to communicate time-sensitive information about stroke patients straight to a specialist who can intervene and treat. In February 2018, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted a De Novo clearance for Viz LVO, the first-ever computer-aided triage and notification platform. Most recently, Viz.ai announced its second FDA clearance for Viz CTP through the 510(k) pathway, offering healthcare providers an important tool for automated cerebral image analysis.
