We are seeking a highly technical and experienced
Product Manager or AI Expert to lead the product definition and strategy for our cutting-edge AI products focused on authentication and authorization. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of secure digital interactions for both human customers and AI agents. You will belong to the Descope Product Management team and work directly with the company’s leadership team, ideally be based in the Bay Area/Silicon Valley.
Responsibilities:
- AI Agent Focus: Develop product features and strategies to address the unique authentication and authorization challenges posed by AI agents.
- Product Strategy & Vision: Define and evangelize the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI-powered authentication and authorization solutions, identifying market opportunities and customer needs.
- Thought Leadership & Evangelism: Represent the company at relevant industry conferences, meetups, and forums, sharing insights on AI security and gathering market intelligence. Assist product marketing in developing compelling materials, including white papers, presentations, and demos
- Market & Customer Insight: Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and customer interviews globally to identify pain points, gather requirements, and validate product concepts. Engage directly with prospects and customers globally to understand their evolving security and AI needs.
- Technical Product Leadership: Drive the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation to launch and iteration, translating complex technical concepts into clear product requirements and user stories for engineering teams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the product team, engineering, sales, and marketing teams to ensure successful product development and go-to-market execution.
Qualifications:
- AI Expertise: Strong understanding of AI concepts, algorithms, and their application in real-world products. Experience with AI agent technologies such as MCP and existing tools is a must.
- Customer-Centric: Proven ability to translate customer needs and market trends into successful product strategies and detailed requirements.
- Product Management Experience: 5+ years of product management experience, or similar positions with a significant focus on AI products.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, from engineers to executive stakeholders and external customers.
- Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to think strategically, identify market opportunities, and develop long-term product roadmaps.
- Global Perspective: Experience working with global customers and understanding diverse market requirements.
- Authentication & Authorization Domain Expertise: Knowledge of identity and access management, authentication protocols (e.g., OAuth, OpenID Connect), authorization policies, and security best practices.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field desired.
