Armedia is in search of a remote IT Project Manager. Candidates that are in the DC Metro area are highly preferred to attend occasional meetings at our office in Vienna, VA. The ideal candidate should be highly driven to lead the successful delivery of one or more complex software development initiatives, someone that is not only task executor but a proactive leader who drives outcomes, inspires teams, and aligns delivery to business objectives. This role is key to ensuring organizational profitability, stakeholder satisfaction, and sustainable delivery excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Manage several concurrent projects of varying priority and complexity.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and status reports.
- Track deliverables, dependencies, and outcomes with a sharp focus on timelines and quality.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Maintain risk registers and drive timely resolution of blockers.
- Leverage Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies as appropriate to each project.
- Lead projects using Agile methodologies, including Scrum for iterative delivery, Kanban for flow optimization, and SAFe principles for cross-team coordination at scale.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and coach teams on best practices.
- Report on Agile metrics such as velocity, burndown, lead time, and team health to stakeholders and leadership.
- Build relationships with clients to refine and manage product roadmaps, backlogs, and business requirements.
- Present project updates, risks, and value metrics in a clear and business-aligned manner.
- Manage stakeholder expectations with transparency and professionalism.
- Identify and implement process improvements across project delivery and team operations.
- Serve as liaison between legal, IT, records management, communications, and executive leadership.
- Manage vendor and system integrator relationships and performance.
- Prepare clear and actionable updates for technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, or related field.
