Senior Business Analyst

Armedia is in search of a remote Senior Business Analyst. This position may be fully remote.  This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about building meaningful, compliant, and impactful digital solutions for agencies and organizations serving the public. The Senior Business Analyst will collaborate closely with clients, product managers, developers, and QA teams in an Agile and Hybrid environment to define clear, actionable, and testable requirements that drive successful outcomes. 

Responsibilities: 


  • Conduct discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and workshops to gather detailed business and system requirements. 

  • Translate customer needs into user stories, process flows, functional specs, and acceptance criteria. 

  • Analyze existing systems and business processes to identify gaps, pain points, and improvement opportunities. 

  • Communicate effectively between technical and non-technical groups.  

  • Work directly with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and cross-functional teams to support backlog grooming, sprint planning, and user acceptance testing. 

  • Document and communicate changes, clarifications, and system capabilities with clarity and accuracy. 

  • Support training, demos, and change management activities for end users. 

  • Conduct various aspects of testing, including user acceptance testing.  

Required Education:  


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, information technology, or related field.     

Desired Education:  


  • Master’s degree in business, finance, information technology, or related field.  

  • MBA       

Required Professional Certifications:

Desired Professional Certifications:  


  • IIBA Certified Business Data Analytics (IIBA®-CBDA)  

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification  

  • Certified Records Manager (CRM)  

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)  

Required Years of Relevant Experience:  


  • 5+ years of Business Analyst  

Desired Years of Relevant Experience: 


  • 7-10 years of Business Analyst or Project Management experience. 

Required Skills:


  • Previous experience managing projects simultaneously and effectively 

  • Proven ability to manage requirements timeline, issues and risks, and the ability to manage tasks, plans and projects.  

  • Thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and first-hand experience working with teams throughout the life cycle.  

  • Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Contour, Confluence, Visio, CaliberRM, Figma, Lucidchart, or similar platforms. 

  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and documentation skills. 

  • Recommend user-centered solutions and propose enhancements based on feedback and analytics. 

  • Ensure traceability from business requirements through to test cases and delivery. 

  • Self-motivated and results-oriented.

  • Quality assurance related skills including analytical thinking, problem-solving, test planning and execution 

  • Customer or User Experience design
