Novaspect, Inc., an Emerson Impact Partner, the global leader of automation systems and solutions, is currently offering an opportunity for a Controller to join our team.

Controller Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the activities of the Accounting Department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all processes and data to enhance the Company's value. 
  • Maintain proper Internal Controls and assure compliance with GAAP
  • Establish and maintain principles to report revenue recognition to users of financial statements about the nature, amount, timing, and uncertainty of revenue from contracts with customers
  • Provide formal leadership for the Accounting Team, including team development, mentorship, performance conversations and individual career development of team members. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture
  • Oversee the management of the Accounts Receivable team to ensure accurate and timely management of all Accounts Receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application
  • Analyze and ensure customer terms are representative of corporate credit policy 
  • Manage the Accounts Payable Department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, employee expense reports, and cash control  
  • Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments. Ensure the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial expertise and support for various business initiatives
  • Monitor bank activities and cash positions by overseeing payments, ensuring accuracy, proper authorization, and adherence to internal controls
  • Identify opportunities and work with other departments to implement or upgrade work processes, metrics, or reports to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Aid in evaluating potential investments, acquisitions, and other strategic opportunities
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure prompt completion

Requirements

Controller Experience and Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with CPA. Master's degree desired
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in a senior finance or accounting role, with progressively increasing responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including ERP systems and Microsoft suite

Controller Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to work extended hours on a computer

Controller Pay:


  • Salary Range: $125,000 - $175,000
  • Potential Bonus: 10%
