Staff Engineering Manager – Egypt Tech Hub

The Opportunity
As the Staff Engineering Manager, you’ll be the first technical hire in Cairo. You’ll codehands-on, ship roadmap features, and build a cross-functional squad that scales to ~10engineers in year one. You’ll serve as the daily bridge between the Egypt team andleadership/product counterparts in KSA and other hubs.
What You’ll Do (First 12 Months)
Deliver Product
- Own end-to-end execution of Egypt-scoped roadmap items firmware integrations, cloud micro-services, Flutter/React UIs.• Maintain > 99.9 % uptime for IoT data-ingestion pipelines.
Lead & Grow Team
- Hire, onboard, and mentor a high-performing 8-person squad (backend, mobile, QA).• Run agile rituals, on-call rotation, and incident post-mortems.
Stakeholder Alignment
- Sync weekly with Product, QA, Customer Success, and the VP Engineering.• Travel to Riyadh quarterly for planning and team-building.
Engineering Excellence
- Establish CI/CD, IaC, and observability standards consistent with other hubs.• Drive MTTR on sev-1 incidents to < 60 mins.
What You Bring
- 8+ yrs software engineering, 3+ yrs tech-lead or engineering-manager experience.
- Deep expertise in one of the following stacks plus working knowledge of AWS/Azure:
- Node.js (TypeScript) | .NET Core | Flutter/React
- Comfort collaborating with IoT firmware teams; ability to parse MCU logs and protocols.
- Proven record running on-call rotations and incident management.
- Excellent English (written & spoken); Arabic fluency highly valued.
- Bonus points for construction-tech, embedded systems, data-engineering, Scrum/PMP certs.
