At Myant, we’re transforming how patients connect with cardiometabolic care, seamlessly integrating textiles, sensors, and digital health tools into people’s everyday lives. As we expand our Cardiometabolic Business Unit in Canada, we are looking for a Director, UX UI to lead our UX/UI design team and own the vision, quality, and execution of design across our patient and clinician-facing platforms. This is not a product management role, but someone with a strong understanding of product design coupled with a deep understanding of both consumer health apps and design systems is critical.  This role combines hands-on design leadership with team management as well as responsibility for setting the bar for design excellence, mentoring a growing team of designers, and ensuring design is tightly integrated into product development from concept to delivery.

You and your team will be the hands-on UX/UI experts who bridge the gap between insight and interface, mapping complex workflows, designing multi-layered experiences, and working side-by-side with product, software, data science as well as engineering teams to bring scalable, compliant, and beautiful digital experiences to life.If you have strong Figma experience, a deep understanding of healthcare user needs, and love translating technical complexity into intuitive design, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end UX/UI design across our digital cardiometabolic solutions, including mobile, web, dashboards, and AI-enhanced tools.
  • Translate complex user needs into intuitive, actionable design systems using tools like Figma.
  • Collaborate with product and clinical leads to map decision trees, onboarding workflows, and health data flows for patients and providers.
  • Design consumer-grade patient experiences that simplify chronic care journeys while meeting clinical and compliance needs.
  • Integrate ChatGPT-based or generative AI features to support education, triage, or personalized insights.
  • Conduct user testing and usability research to validate assumptions and iterate based on real-world feedback.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering to ensure design implementation fidelity and maintain a high-quality product experience.
  • Help define and scale a modular design system for consistent and accessible healthcare UI.
  • Represent the voice of the user in every design decision—patients, cardiologists, care teams, and family caregivers alike.
  • Build patient- and clinician-facing experiences that are elegant, evidence-based, and scalable.
  • Collaborate with clinical, engineering, product, and data science teams to map decision trees, design flows, and streamline navigation in complex healthcare journeys.
  • Partner with clinical stakeholders to ensure designs meet both usability and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, accessibility).
  • Work with product and data teams to integrate generative AI features (e.g., ChatGPT-based experiences) for patient coaching, triage, or reporting.
  • Advocate for UX/UI best practices and help cultivate a design-first mindset across the BU.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in UX/UI or product design, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior IC role.
  • Proven track record in designing consumer-facing or clinician-facing digital health products or medical devices.
  • Deep experience working with Figma—design systems, version control, component libraries, and collaborative workflows.
  • Able to map and explain complex systems (e.g., decision trees, workflow hierarchies, logic flows) clearly and efficiently.
  • Experience working on products that include data visualization, device integrations, or multi-tiered architecture.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset—able to work in matrixed environments across clinical, technical, and commercial teams.
  • Comfortable working in an early-stage, fast-moving environment, where structure is evolving and initiative is expected.
  • Bonus: Experience working with regulatory frameworks (e.g., Health Canada, HIPAA, accessibility standards) or data privacy design patterns.
