Technical Production Manager

As we continue to grow, we are looking to strategically expand our in-house production capabilities to enhance efficiency, control, and accelerate time-to-market for our cutting-edge products.Motivo is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Technical Production Manager with a strong background in contract manufacturing to lead the exciting challenge of establishing and scaling our internal production facilities.

This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of transitioning production processes from our development engineering team to our in-house manufacturing and assembly operations, building robust manufacturing systems, and ensuring seamless integration with our product development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes, supply chain management, and the ability to drive complex projects from conception to successful implementation.

Requirements


  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and execute a comprehensive roadmap for expanding Motivo's in-house production capabilities, identifying key milestones, resources, and timelines.
  • Process Transition & Optimization: Lead the transfer of manufacturing processes, tooling, and knowledge from contract manufacturers to Motivo's internal facilities, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Facility & Equipment Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, finance) to identify, procure, and set up necessary production equipment, machinery, and facility layouts.
  • Team Building & Management: Potentially recruit, train, and manage a new in-house production team as capabilities expand.
  • Supply Chain Integration: Establish and manage internal supply chains for raw materials and components, optimizing inventory levels and ensuring continuity of supply.
  • Quality & Compliance: Implement robust quality control systems and ensure all in-house production adheres to relevant industry standards, regulations, and Motivo's quality requirements.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications, providing regular updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success and minimize disruption.
  • Budget Management: Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the new production environment, leveraging lean manufacturing principles.

Required Attributes


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field (or comparable on the job experience).
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in project/production management within a manufacturing environment, with a significant focus on contract manufacturing operations.
  • Proven track record of successfully transitioning production processes from prototype to production readiness.
  • Deep understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, CNC machining, assembly, electronics manufacturing).
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management, logistics, and inventory control.
  • Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • ERP experience is a plus.
