DESCRIPTION:
The JIB Accountant is responsible for supporting the company’s joint interest billing accounting functions and ensures that expenditures are recorded within the framework of Talos Energy Inc.’s policies and procedures in compliance of applicable regulations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply incoming cash for all JIB-related payments
- Collect, review and reconcile partner accounts
- Book quarterly allowance for doubtful accounts
- Prepare various journal vouchers and re-billings
- Process account adjustments and correcting entries
- Perform monthly account reconciliations
- Create manual invoices and mail partner JIB invoices as needed
- Address and respond to partner inquiries and disputes
- Assist in reviewing, coding, and processing outside operated invoices
- Provide reports to upper management for analysis and audit responses
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships with outside operators and internal staff
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3-10 years in joint interest billing
- Experience in cash applications
- High School Diploma
- Preferably an associate degree or bachelor’s degree
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Office, and Word
- Bolo software preferred, but not required
- Flexible with changing priorities
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently or within a team structure with minimal supervision

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time and have use of arms and hands in repetitive motion. A fair amount of standing and walking is also required for the position.
