Summary of Responsibilities:
The IT Solutions Engineer plays a vital role in the full Agile development lifecycle of the enterprise pension administration systems. This includes active participation in planning, development, testing, and deployment activities. The role is also responsible for monitoring the application's technical operations and performing corrective actions as needed. Additionally, the Solutions Engineer oversees third-party COTS products by ensuring their availability, troubleshooting issues, and managing their lifecycle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze, design, develop, implement, and support enterprise pension administration system (SMART) using Agile methodologies and technologies such as C#, ASP.Net, XML, JavaScript and related tools.
- Automate SMART operations—including batch processing, post-processing cleanup, and related tasks—to optimize runtime performance and improve efficiency through proactive monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
- Evaluate SMART operational data growth (file systems, database, etc.) and implement a technical solution to effectively manage and control data growth.
- Perform database-related tasks, including developing SSRS reports, writing SQL queries, and executing data fixes, while ensuring the integrity of the production database is maintained.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the SMART application ecosystem—including components such as PlanetPress, Workflow, Imaging, SFTP, and Centralized Printing—and take ownership of its ongoing maintenance and support, including product lifecycle management.
- Perform troubleshooting activities to support the performance, uptime, and stability of the SMART business application, including analysis and resolution of issues related to software, SQL, PowerShell scripts, and data fixes.
- Perform SMART configuration management by executing build and deployment activities for software releases
- Perform both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment which promotes “One IT”.
- Provide after-hours technical support as required by the needs of the organization.
- Research, learn, and apply Generative AI (GenAI) development tools to support the Agile development lifecycle, with the goal of reducing development cycles and optimizing software performance.
- Design and build product deliverables according to specifications, and escalate technical design or specification issues, as needed.
- Expected to demonstrate good interpersonal skills, be an excellent team player, and behave in a professional manner.
- Ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and security of all Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI) data by strictly adhering to federal and state laws, regulations, polices, and best practices for data protection and access control.

The incumbent is required to:
- Carry a cell phone with text messaging capabilities to respond to daily business needs.
Educations and Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in computer science or related field;
- Five years related experience and/or training; and
- Three years’ experience with Power Shell or other scripting language and
- Three years’ experience in IT operation (FTP, batch etc.) management
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail skills
- Ability to identify key and underlying complex problems and resolve them appropriately
- Ability to work independently with little oversight
- Equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience

Working Conditions:
This role operates in a professional office environment and is subject to prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines and may need to be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Information Technology staff members are eligible to work remotely 2 days per week, after 30 days of employment.
