QA Technician

SUMMARY
Performs inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies and/or finished products according to defined criteria using visual, mechanical and/or electrical assessments, measurements or tests.

Essential Functions of the position include, but are not limited to;
- Verifies products meet FFNA standards and customer requirements.
- Reworks or rejects subassemblies or finished products as required.
- Conducts and documents process and system audits using written procedures as audit standards.
- Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing including any defects/errors found.
- Maintains all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintains Excel spreadsheet tracking all FPYs daily.
- Evaluates problems and makes initial recommendations for possible corrective action to the Manager, specifically if a trend in errors is identified as soon as possible.
- Works with production management and Manager to provide feedback to assembly/repair technicians regarding accuracy of assembly/repair procedures and workmanship; this communication will be relayed daily during the morning meeting in the specific area assigned and throughout the day as issues are identified.
- Performs review of documentation for compliance to established procedures when necessary.
- Regular work site attendance and punctuality.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with finding root cause and permanent corrective action for Corrective Actions that Production has received.
- Participates in the construction and/or revision of SOPs for Quality functions.
- Reports any areas of conflict when relaying or identifying errors to others.
- Assists in the writing and updating inspection procedures and checklists.
- Trains others when required.
- Adheres to company policies, ISO requirements, safety, and quality.
- Supports continual improvement efforts.

- Knowledge of proper use of measurement and test equipment tools as well as appropriate usage.

- Knowledge of how to apply basic inspection and testing techniques.
- Ability to communicate with other departments, read and interpret applied work instructions, software and hardware procedures, and appropriate documentation as required.
- Detail oriented and displays a sense of urgency on work assignments while meeting requested delivery dates.
- Ability to review work instructions & procedures and follow them.
- Excellent team player, problem solver with a high level of self-motivation and initiative.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure while meeting deadlines on a consistent basis.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree, or 3 years directly related experience
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
ASQ, CQT, CQA, Six Sigma Green Belt desired
COMPUTER SKILLS
Individual must be PC literate and have the aptitude to learn operation of other computer systems. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and other commonly used applications software is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Demonstrate ability to read, comprehend, and respond appropriately through written or verbal form when required; ability to demonstrate tactfulness when communicating, to include internal communication with staff members of all levels; ability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences.
