Role:
As a
Director, Enterprise Project Management Office,
reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer,you will be responsible for leading and managing the organization's portfolio of strategic programs and projects. This role ensures that project execution across the enterprise aligns with strategic objectives, delivers business value, and follows standardized governance, methodologies, and best practices. The EPMO Director plays a pivotal role in enterprise-wide planning, execution, resource management, and change enablement.
Responsibilities:
The essential responsibilities and duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the strategic development and execution of the Enterprise PMO to support organizational priorities and growth.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, aligning project goals with company strategy.
- Develop and manage the enterprise project portfolio dashboard, tracking project performance, timelines, risks, and value realization.
Governance and Standards
- Establish and enforce PMO policies, processes, tools, and templates across all business units.
- Ensure consistency and compliance with project governance, risk management, and quality assurance.
- Continuously assess and evolve project methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, hybrid models) to support organizational needs.
Project & Portfolio Management
- Oversee the selection, prioritization, and execution of enterprise-wide projects and programs.
- Monitor project metrics, KPIs, and success criteria; proactively identify and resolve performance issues.
- Provide direct oversight for high-impact initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
Team Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing team of project and program managers.
- Coach and mentor staff to ensure effective project execution, professional development, and career growth.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and results-driven culture within the EPMO.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a liaison between business units, IT, Customer Care, and executive leadership to ensure stakeholder alignment.
- Lead cross-functional governance forums to review portfolio status, risks, and resource allocations.
- Communicate project and portfolio progress through executive dashboards and presentations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong leadership, team-building, and people management skills.
- Expertise in project management software/tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira).
- Strategic thinker with exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Adept at navigating change and driving transformation in a dynamic, growth-focused environment.
Certifications
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent preferred.
- Agile certifications (e.g., SAFe, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master) a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in project and program management, including 5+ years leading an enterprise PMO.
- Proven success in managing complex, cross-functional portfolios and change initiatives.
- Proven experience in business development, partner management, and cross-functional leadership.
