Job Summary:
The Senior Internal Auditor will perform an array of concurrent financial, operational and regulatory internal audits to evaluate internal controls and make recommendations regarding control deficiencies. Additionally, this role will be involved in Model Audit Rule (“MAR”) assessments and information technology projects.
Main Accountabilities:
- Participate in the development of internal audit risk assessments, audit programs, and detailed internal audit reports and presentation materials.
- Participate in audit assurance reviews in adherence with professional audit standards and regulatory requirements.
- Document and evaluate internal controls, propose enhancements to controls and investigate the root cause of internal control weaknesses.
- Coordinate with external auditors and where possible optimize their reliance on work product.
- Coordinate with Third Party Providers to ensure controls are designed and operating effectively.
- Demonstrate individual conformance with The IIA’s Code of Ethics.
Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of public accounting or financial services audit experience.
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
- Effective communication skills.
- Solid understanding of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe and Visio.
- Ability to evaluate internal controls effectively and accurately document results.
- Experience with AuditBoard a plus.
- CPA, CIA, CFA, or CISA Certification a plus.
- Experience with NAIC Insurance Model Audit Rule and/or Sarbanes Oxley is preferred.
Work Location:
This is a hybrid position based out of our Zionsville, IN, office located at 10555 Group 1001 Way. We are ideally seeking candidates local to the Indianapolis metro area and willing to commute to that office on a regular basis.
