Job Summary:
In this role, the Senior Network Engineer will work directly with our end client’s network and IT infrastructure team as well as other BlueAlly project-based consultants supporting the network segmentation assessment and follow-on design/implementation initiative(s). You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the end client’s network and security infrastructure. As a Senior Network Engineer, you may also be required to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
This role requires onsite presence 2-3 days per week at our client's location in Atlanta. ONLY local candidates currently living in Atlanta metropolitan area will be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage network and security infrastructure to include, but not limited to, LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks
- Develop and/or maintain up-to-date documentation of network architecture(s), design(s), configurations, processes, and procedures
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues in a timely and accurate manner to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and minimal downtime
- Actively support and assist in the design, planning, and implementation of network segmentation for both wired and wireless networks throughout the enterprise
- Apply broad technical expertise to address business challenges
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the end client’s network and security infrastructure and associated working environment(s)
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and innovations
- Provide technical support to junior network engineers and/or other end client IT staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field) or equivalent experience
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent professional certifications(s)
- 12 years of relevant experience in a network engineering or related role, preferably with recent and/or prior experience in healthcare
- Strong knowledge of network and security architecture, design, technologies, and best practices
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and associated solutions/technologies, preferably within a predominantly Cisco-centric environment
- Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills, with the ability to act independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with network segmentation design and implementation
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- Cisco Software Defined Access (SDA)
- Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI)
- Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
- Cisco StealthWatch
- Firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto, and/or Checkpoint)
- Claroty Medigate
Work Conditions:
- Hybrid – this role involves regular onsite work at the Client location 2-3 days per week.
