About the team


IT Support & Operations Team


The role fits in the IT Support & Operations team within Group IT, working to ensure that GBG deliver a world-class experience for our team members globally.  IT Support & Operations team look after all aspects of Group IT including support of our team members on the tools that they need daily to successfully carry out their roles.  We ensure that services are available for team members to utilise and that such services are the best option available to GBG in terms of quality, performance, and cost.  We strive for a timely response whilst providing the best customer experience we can.

The role


We are seeking a highly skilled and organised SharePoint Administrator to manage and maintain our SharePoint environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring, deploying, and optimising SharePoint systems to ensure seamless collaboration and data management across GBG. This role involves working closely with Group IT teams and team members to support and enhance the SharePoint infrastructure.

What you will do


  • Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and upgrade SharePoint systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • User Management: Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to maintain security and compliance.
  • Content Management: Develop and manage content databases and site collections, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Custom Solutions: Collaborate with developers to deploy custom SharePoint solutions tailored to business needs.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting and resolving SharePoint-related issues.
  • System Monitoring: Perform daily monitoring and maintenance of the SharePoint environment, addressing performance, availability, and capacity issues.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for SharePoint policies, procedures, and user guides.
  • Training: Conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure effective utilisation of SharePoint features.
  • Backup and Recovery: Plan and execute backup and disaster recovery operations to safeguard data.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to resolve issues and enhance system functionality.

Requirements


Skills we're looking for


  • Experience in developing process and policy to meet business needs
  • Experience in maintaining Intune & Jamf deployment tools
  • Report writing
  • Understanding of license and compliance.
  • Intune & Jamf configuration and maintenance 
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with a deep understanding of the technologies being supported
  • Experience in providing a best-in-class customer service to end users, including regular meaningful communication
  • Excellent application of technical procedures and maintaining technical knowledge base to rapidly resolve issues
  • Performance driven to ensure business and technology can be evidenced against agreed SLAs and KPIs
  • Proactive / self-starter approach to addressing issues and resolving tickets
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of the wider team
  • Good written and oral communication
  • Experience of ITIL operational support working practices
  • Experience of introducing new technologies into service and support
  • Good organisational skills

Desirable Skills:


  • Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in SharePoint administration.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in SharePoint Designer and SharePoint Online.
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems, SQL Server, Power BI, PowerShell, and Office 365.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint tools such as ULS Logs, workflows, and SharePoint forms.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Developer Associate or Information Protection Administrator Associate are highly desirable .
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in developing and managing custom SharePoint solutions.
  • Knowledge of SQL server administration.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a large organisation.
