PURPOSE:

We are seeking a Supervisor, Quality Assurance, who wants to join our team as we build a culture of passionate commitment to execution, simplicity, and customer loyalty at Avelo. We are a new high value/low fare airline growing throughout the U.S. As Supervisor, Quality Assurance, you will play a vital role in the safety and airworthiness for our Customers and Crewmembers. 

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Lead the Quality Assurance department crewmembers to ensure our highest standards for safety, airworthiness and regulatory compliance are always being met for both process management/ improvement and crewmember leadership
  • Develop highly competent QA Auditors through initial and ongoing learning and assure that appropriate training is made available to Quality Assurance Crewmembers
  • Supervise the Quality Assurance (QA) internal and external maintenance provider audit programs to ensure compliance with CFR and Company manuals
  • For all aircraft, ensure potable water events are recorded and tracked per company manuals. That they are entered into the EPA Aircraft Reporting and Compliance System (ARCS) on a timely basis
  • Develop, revise, and implement processes and procedures to “Keep It Simple” and efficient for both our crewmembers and customers. 
  • Manage audit programs for Aircraft Fuel, On-Call Maintenance, Deice, and Station
  • Maintain the Monthly Maintenance Provider Listing (MPL) report for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) using the Safety Assurance System (SAS) website
  • Maintain accurate audit checklists in Computer Based Tracking Systems (CBTS)
  • Develop and maintain yearly audit schedules for all internal and external partners
  • Review and update quality program content in the General Maintenance Manual (GMM)
  • Review Coordinating Agency for Supplier Evaluation (C.A.S.E.) database transmittals for any changes to company approved partners
  • Maintain Monthly Maintenance Provider Listing (MPL) using SAS
  • Conduct Special Audits as required by Tech Ops Management or FAA
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for QA and manage VDRP corrective actions
  • Participate in DOD and IOSA audits, and perform duties as a company auditor
  • Manage EPA Potable Water program, by ensuring aircraft fleet compliance and document potable water program failures or violations
  • Oversee potable water disinfection and sampling, adhering to company manuals
  • Revise GMM potable water processes as needed and monitor CFR updates
  • Present monthly CASS reports, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions
  • Manage Voluntary Disclosure Reporting Program (VDRP) corrective action timelines and special audits for Tech Ops
  • Document, investigate and issue any findings to the auditee
  • Monitor safety reports, delay and cancelations reports for quality related items
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis to determine course of action to prevent future recurrence
  • Liaison with FAA Safety Inspectors to be transparent in an open and honest relationship
  • Participate in the Safety Management System (SMS) program

Requirements

  • 3+ years of maintenance experience on different types of large airplanes with 10 or more seats with an air carrier or certificated repair station, 1 year of which must be as a Quality Auditor. 
  • 1+ year of experience in a supervisory role surveilling the same category and class of aircraft as the company uses. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred. 
  • Current and valid Airframe and Powerplant License required. 
  • Management and on time delivery of daily, weekly, or monthly reports as required by company manuals. 
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulation and ability to learn other agencies (IOSA, DOD, OSHA, C.A.S.E., Etc.) requirements
  • Ability to author and revise efficient processes and procedures in company manuals. 
  • Process mapping and process design (with a bias toward simplicity). 
  • Project and Program management experience. 
  • Strong Communication skills capable of working with other Crewmembers and Federal authorities. 
  • Strong critical thinking with an analytical approach to problem solving. 
  • Ability to provide On the Job Training (OJT) to Quality Assurance crewmembers
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, develop relationships and motivate performance. 
  • A tenacious problem solving and continuous improvement mindset. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • High degree of attention to detail in both the actual performance of the work being accomplished and in the documented procedure. 
  • Move throughout the office or line maintenance environments for extended periods of time (up to 10-12 hours per day). 
  • Available for after-hours management (including weekends) of airline operational issues. 
  • Ability to work through multiple problems/solutions prioritizing and sequencing the execution of issues to manage and resolve them quickly and effectively. 
  • Ability to travel for auditing both maintenance and ground operations stations and business partners up to 50% per month. Some months may require additional travel. 
  • Ability to work in outdoor environment around aircraft in all climates. 
  • Ability to move 20 lbs. over a distance of 10 feet

  • Current and Valid Passport. 
  • C.A.S.E. Level III or IV Certified. 

May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, rush initiatives or technical developments).
