We are seeking a Software Developer (Journeyman) to provide expertise in technical design, development, implementation, and optimization of software solutions for large-scale DoD systems. This role involves programming, testing, debugging, analysis, and system enhancement, ensuring high-performing software solutions that align with national security objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed technical designs and software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms.
- Design, code, test, debug, and implement software applications to support DoD systems.
- Conduct organizational needs assessments, aligning software development initiatives with operational goals.
- Review, analyze, and modify programming systems, ensuring optimized encoding, testing, and installation for large-scale deployments.
- Maintain software performance efficiency, identifying and resolving system issues.
- Collaborate with teams to integrate secure software development methodologies into DoD infrastructure.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for software development, system revisions, and operational improvements.
- Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, security standards, and risk management frameworks.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Secret Clearance: TS preferred.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field OR equivalent work experience.
- Experience:
- 4 years’ experience with a master’s degree or higher OR
- 2 years’ experience with a Doctorate Degree OR
- 6 years’ experience with a bachelor’s degree OR
- 8 years’ experience with an associate’s degree.
- Skills:
- Strong proficiency in software development, programming languages, debugging, and testing methodologies.
- Ability to design and modify large-scale DoD software systems, ensuring efficiency and security.
- Understanding of network security, encryption protocols, and secure coding best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with classified defense software systems and military cybersecurity operations.
- Familiarity with cloud-based software solutions (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).
- Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, AWS Certified Developer, or DoD-approved software engineering credentials.
