We are seeking an experienced Computer Security System Specialist Level 3 to analyze and define security requirements, design and implement mission-critical security solutions, and conduct risk analyses to safeguard DoD information systems.
This role involves evaluating existing security products, understanding Multi-Level Security (MLS) environments, and ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and define computer security requirements for high-level applications within DoD IT environments.
- Design, develop, and implement security solutions, ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity frameworks.
- Conduct risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and security threats within defense systems.
- Gather and organize technical data related to DoD mission goals, security products, and MLS programs.
- Evaluate approved security product capabilities, ensuring optimal system performance and protection.
- Develop solutions to MLS-related security challenges, optimizing system integrity and operational security.
- Collaborate with system engineers, software developers, and DoD cybersecurity teams to implement security architectures.
- Ensure compliance with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST standards, and federal cybersecurity policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Secret Clearance: TS preferred.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree inElectrical Engineering, Information Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Physics, Math, or related discipline OR
- Master’s degree in the fields above with 7 years of experience (at least 5 years specialized) OR
- 12 years of experience (at least 10 years specialized) with no degree required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years in cybersecurity roles, with at least 6 years specialized experience in:
- Defining computer security requirements.
- Evaluating approved security product capabilities.
- Developing solutions for MLS security challenges.
- Skills:
- Expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, risk analysis, secure system design, and network security protocols.
- Ability to interpret and implement DoD cybersecurity compliance policies.
- Strong problem-solving, technical documentation, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with classified defense systems and military cybersecurity operations.
- Knowledge of AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, and secure cloud environments.
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or DoD-approved cybersecurity credentials.
