An Image Engineering Permitting Specialist plays a key role within our Production department, coordinating with internal project teams and local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to obtain the necessary permits for our global sports, corporate events, and tours. This position follows established procedures and utilizes company templates to submit compliance-related documentation on time, while facilitating communication between project teams and regulatory agencies. The role also contributes to enhancing and streamlining current permitting processes.
Role Description

Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Production team to gather required information for permits and provide guidance on jurisdiction-specific timelines, regulations, and restrictions.
- Prepare informational packets detailing special effects and laser usage for submission to local authorities, clients, and on-site crews.
- Submit permit applications for pyrotechnics, flames, lasers, and other special effects, under the direction of the Compliance Manager.
- Complete federal permitting and notifications, including submissions to the FAA and U.S. Coast Guard, as needed.
- Mail or hand-deliver physical permit applications in accordance with local jurisdiction requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with AHJs, addressing requests for additional information and facilitating permit approvals.
- Maintain up-to-date project databases with permit documentation and ongoing updates.
- Assist Producers with site surveys and product/equipment demonstrations as needed.
- Monitor and track all permitting-related expenses in real-time, reporting to the Production and Accounting teams.
- Stay informed on relevant industry standards, and local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update venue and jurisdictional information in project databases.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Suggest relevant professional development opportunities and training topics aligned with current project needs.
- Support the team in developing internal resources, standardized documents, policies, and procedures.
- Adhere to all company procedures and directives.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong confidence and well-developed communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively in both scheduled and impromptu conversations with AHJs, local licensing authorities, and onsite crews via phone, text, or email.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- Proficiency in Adobe software.
- Experience with Monday.com or similar project management tools.
- Positive, persistent attitude with a strong desire to learn, grow, and contribute to team improvement.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and constantly evolving environment.
- Skilled at managing and prioritizing competing project deadlines and demands.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Administration, Event Management, or a related field preferred. An associate’s degree and/or relevant experience will also be considered.

Salary DescriptionSalary Range: $47,000 to $55,000 per year
