We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join our extraordinary team at Top Hat, an award-winning organization renowned for its exceptional work culture and commitment to excellence.
Reporting to the Revenue Controller, you will play a critical role in building a world-class financial reporting function to help scale Top Hat's rapidly growing business. You will take a hands-on role in managing corporate accounting and financial reporting. The role requires the ability to adapt and to assist in improving efficiencies and processes.
You Will:
- Contribute to the month-end close process and prepare timely and accurate consolidated financial statements and supporting documents, including approving journal entries, reviewing account reconciliations, and providing detailed forecast-to-actual variance analysis to leadership.
- Responsible for assisting with the financial year-end close procedures and external audit, including the preparation of annual audited financial statements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for investors and various stakeholders.
- Research technical accounting issues as needed and establish company-wide accounting policies.
- Support the management of the revenue variable compensation plan and partner with Finance and HR to ensure accurate and timely compensation payments.
- Play a key role in overseeing the monthly compensation cycle, including statement management and providing support to Revenue members with inquiries or concerns.
- Proactively support the changing needs of the business, including building new commission plans & onboarding new hires to commissions.
- Coordinate the implementation of new processes that optimize the operations of commission reporting with the goal of simplification and continuous improvement.
- Conduct and maintain billing reconciliation procedures across Top Hat's diverse platform ecosystem.
You Have:
- A BA/BS degree in Finance or Accounting. A CPA/CA designation is required.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and internal controls. Knowledge of accounting regulations, compliance, and reporting under US GAAP/IFRS.
- 2-4 years of progressive experience, ideally a combination of public accounting (Big 4 or regional equivalent) and corporate experience.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, team building and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels of the organization and make actionable recommendations.
- Must be proactive and a self-starter, and able to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from the manager to accomplish objectives.
- Flexibility to work under time constraints and deadlines.
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus!
