A little bit about the role!


We are seeking an experienced, operationally-driven VP of Client Services to lead our core business unit: Bookkeeping, Tax, and Payroll for creators. This is a critical leadership position responsible for ensuring operational excellence, team performance, and client satisfaction across our accounting services. This leader will sit on our executive team along with the CEO, CTO, VP of Sales & Marketing, and VP of Operations.We are looking for an exceptional leader who thrives on building strong teams, optimizing workflows, and (most importantly) delivering consistent, high-quality service at scale.

This person must be a strong operator and people manager with the ability to manage both day-to-day complexity and long-term strategy. You’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our client experience while setting the vision for how our internal teams grow and scale effectively.

As the VP of Client Services, you will be responsible for:


  • Leading the overall Core Services department (Bookkeeping, Tax, and Payroll), approx. 30+ team members and growing.
  • Managing both direct and shared teams, ensuring clarity in roles and accountability across functions.
  • Ensuring exceptional customer experience by driving accuracy, timeliness, and clear, proactive communication with our customers.
  • Assessing what’s working and what’s not to effectively design and implement solutions that enable scalable, sustainable growth across the three core departments.
  • Establishing KPIs and performance metrics tied to quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction.
  • Partnering closely with the Technology and Operations teams to leverage tools and automation for greater efficiency.
  • Working across departments to ensure strong collaboration with Sales, Product, and the broader leadership team.
  • Fostering a positive, high-performance, customer-obsessed team culture.
  • Driving accountability, training, and development across all levels of the client services organization.

  • You have 8+ years of leadership experience, including managing managers and operational teams.
  • You’ve worked in professional services, SaaS, or other complex operational settings where delivering a consistently high-quality customer experience at scale is mission-critical. Bonus points if this was with a startup!
  • You’ve led and scaled teams in high-growth, fast-paced environments and are comfortable operating with some ambiguity.
  • You bring a strong operational mindset: highly organized, systems- and process-oriented, and data-driven.
  • You’re a thoughtful, low-ego leader who prioritizes people, feedback, and psychological safety as core team values.
  • You’re a clear communicator who can influence across teams and levels, both internally and externally.
  • You thrive in both strategic and tactical modes and are able to zoom out and set direction, while also willing to roll up your sleeves when needed.
  • You're excited to build not just a service offering, but the infrastructure, team, and culture that supports long-term excellence.
