This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and procuring packaging materials and non-stock items (e.g., displays, promotional materials) essential to Made In's operations.
This role requires effective supplier research, cost analysis, and strong negotiation skills to optimize both cost and quality. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.Key Responsibilities
Packaging Procurement & OptimizationResearch, evaluate, and select packaging suppliers to meet quality, sustainability, and cost requirements.Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Product, Marketing, Operations) to clarify packaging needs and specifications.Continuously explore new materials and innovative packaging solutions to reduce costs, improve sustainability, and enhance the customer experience.Non-Stock Item SourcingIdentify and source non-stock items, such as displays, promotional materials, and other specialty items.Coordinate with Marketing, Wholesale, and other teams to understand design, branding, and timeline requirements.Negotiate pricing and terms, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to brand standards.Supplier Relationship ManagementDevelop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent quality, delivery performance, and cost-effectiveness.Monitor supplier performance through metrics (e.g., on-time delivery, quality assurance, service level) and address any performance gaps.Communicate regularly with suppliers to manage lead times, inventory levels, and resolve any issues.Cost Analysis & NegotiationPerform cost and spend analyses to identify savings opportunities in packaging and non-stock procurement.Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to achieve optimal cost, quality, and service.Work with Finance to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting.Compliance & Quality AssuranceCollaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to establish and maintain quality standards for packaging and non-stock items.Ensure all suppliers comply with relevant regulations and company policies, including sustainability and ethical sourcing guidelines.Support periodic supplier audits to verify compliance and drive continuous improvement.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Product Development, Operations) to understand upcoming product launches, campaigns, or seasonal needs.Provide clear timelines, costs, and supplier capabilities to support decision-making and project planning.Participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment on sourcing priorities and deadlines.Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Packaging Engineering or related field.
- Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles.
- Proven track record of sourcing packaging and/or non-stock items (e.g., promotional materials, retail displays).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong analytical skills for cost analysis and supplier performance tracking.
- Proficiency in procurement software/ERP systems.
- Soft Skills:
- Effective negotiation and communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Collaborative mindset and a drive for continuous improvement.
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required for supplier visits and industry events.
