Cognicion LLC, a boutique eDiscovery services and information management provider is actively recruiting a proven leader to direct its Cyber Incident Response (CIR) service line, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery of defensible solutions to clients navigating data breaches and regulatory response. This leadership role drives team performance, client retention, and service innovation while contributing to broader organizational growth, efficiency, and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Develop and execute CIR strategies that align with Cognicion’s business objectives and core values.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team through coaching, feedback, and clear goal setting.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for key clients, ensuring needs are met with urgency and care.
- Drive operational improvements and implement best practices to enhance client delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business Development and Legal, to support growth and client satisfaction.
- Oversee KPIs, billing, and team utilization to ensure financial and operational performance.
- Contribute to internal strategic initiatives related to staffing, policy development, risk management, and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; JD or graduate degree in data science preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in eDiscovery or legal technology.
- 7+ years in client services or project/program management.
- 5+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- 3+ years of experience managing cyber incident response projects.
- Certifications in cyber response, data privacy, or project management (e.g., CIPP, PMP) preferred.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office and reporting tools (Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI etc.).
- Understanding of privacy regulations, breach notification requirements, and associated data workflows.
- Experience managing offshore vendor teams and coordinating across time zones.
- Working knowledge of scripting and data analysis for custom reporting and triage workflows.
- Proficiency with cyber incident response tools such as Canopy, iConect, and SQL
- Familiarity with eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, Everlaw) is a plus but secondary to cyber tools.
