Wyyerd is seeking an Operations Technician III to assist across all areas of network deployment and customer installation. Additionally, assisting with procurement and tracking of network related inventory. This position plays a critical role on the Network team, whose primary goals are to deliver the most advanced telecommunications services in the market, while optimizing costs and providing an outstanding end-to-end customer experience.
About This RoleWe’re looking for a highly skilled, enthusiastic Operations Technician III to help us deploy and operate a best in class packet network, delivering residential, small business, enterprise, and carrier services. Our ideal candidate will be familiar with IP, Ethernet, and PON networks. SysAdmin and/or DevOps skills and experience are a plus. You will assist the Director of Field Operations in all aspects of the network. Responsibilities
- Ability to understand a fiber network
- Working computer knowledge
- Understanding of basic electricity
- Understanding and interpreting plant maps
- Telecommunications wiring color-code competency
- Program and troubleshoot wireless and networking equipment for each customer
- Understanding home networks
- Pulling fiber through conduit
- Basic fiber splicing
- Digging when needed for placement of drop cables
- Lift 50 lbs and have the ability to handle a tall extension ladder.
- Ability to find and repair fiber network facilities
- Participates in the on call rotation, responds to alarms after hours and weekends as required
- Assists in developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
- Assures proper safety techniques and equipment use
- Participate in network capacity management
- Participate in network growth and augmentationactivities
- Provide direct support to Install and Activation Teams
- Act as escalation point for anything network related
- Interface with customers or potential customers as needed
- Interface with vendors and suppliers as needed
- Be available for after hours, nights, weekends, and holidays in case of network outages
- Other duties as required
Experience/Qualifications
- Must have clean driving record
- Ability to pass drug test
- Understanding of ISP services
- Ability to work with others on all responsibilities
- Excellent network documentation skills
- Familiar with network inventory systems and platforms
- Highly organized and communicative with colleagues and leaders
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
