This position is responsible for ensuring clear, consistent communication, fostering meaningful connections, and maximizing engagement across all stakeholder groups. In addition, the Engagement Coordinator will collaborate on the development of marketing and social media content to elevate the organization’s visibility and impact. The ideal candidate is a proactive team player with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, exceptional attention to detail, and a proven ability to build and sustain relationships. They will bring experience in donor and funder engagement, along with the ability to craft compelling messages tailored to diverse audiences.Key responsibilities:
- Alongside the Executive Director, activate strategies for stewarding individual donors, corporate sponsorships, and special events to ensure that fundraising goals are achieved.
- Develop and maintain communication calendar and messaging, managing social media presence, updating the website, and responding to inquiries.
- Oversee the organization’s e-newsletter content, design, delivery and recipient database.
- Adhering to brand guidelines and working with brand templates, develop and maintain written, visual, and digital materials to promote engagement.
- Support staff with marketing efforts that result in increasing the number of new sites each season and expanding the program into all counties throughout our geographic territory.
- Assist in the organization of special events such as volunteer appreciation, fundraising and 5K.
- Ensure the timely and accurate collection of data; oversee the information management of donor profiles, in-kind donations and sponsorships.
- Identify areas for improvement and implementing best practices to enhance communication and deliver effective engagement strategies.
- Serves as an ambassador for Girls on the Run, exhibiting Girls on the Run core values.
- Develop positive relationships with co-workers, volunteers, board members, donors, sponsors, parents, participants, media and other community members.
- Provide staff, volunteer, and partnership support during peak times and end of season 5K events.
- Any other duties deemed necessary by the Executive Director.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of related education or work experience.
- Passion for Girls on the Run mission and the ability to comprehend and effectively communicate issues surrounding empowerment, self-esteem, body image and whole-person health.
- Outstanding communication skills in multiple environments and with a range of audiences.
- Proven abilities in project management and attention to detail.
- Experience working with data and information systems such as customer relations or donor management, and very comfortable with technology in general.
- Proficient in design software such as Canva or Adobe; proficient in MS Office or Google Workspace.
- Available to work 20-25 hours per week, Monday through Friday in 4- or 5-hour blocks. Schedule is flexible between the hours of 7am and 6pm with prior approval of the Executive Director.
- Available to work the occasional evening and/or Saturday for events, volunteer recruitment and training (5K celebration events are currently scheduled one Saturday morning in May and one Saturday morning in November).
- Must live within our nine-county geographic area.
- Regular access to a reliable vehicle and ability to travel locally.
