For our office in Telford we are looking for an experienced Finance Manager with strong people management skills and experience in team management


What you'll do:


  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Maintain and develop internal SOX controls
  • Coordinate with external accountants to produce UK statutory accounts and corporation tax analyses
  • Coordinate and complete quarterly and annual audits
  • Manage the daily operations of the finance department and lead, coach, and develop a team of finance professionals.
  • Development of continuous improvement culture
  • Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial managers
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate financial information systems and suggest improvements where weaknesses are identified.
  • Any further ad-hoc finance duties that may be required

What it takes:


  • Strong working knowledge of integrated ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
  • An in-depth understanding of accounting principles, UK reporting requirements, financial regulations, and tax laws
  • The ability to efficiently manage tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is critical
  • Analytical and logical with excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Qualified CIMA / ACCA or working towards end of qualification
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
