Role in nutshell :
As a Customer Engineering Manager, you will work on scale and manage a growing, high-performing team that partners with sales to deliver revenue growth whilst reporting to the Function Head.You love technology in all forms and live on the bleeding edge of agile software development and testing technologies. To excel in this role you should be passionate about collaborating with customers and solving real-world customer-facing problems. We are looking for managers who aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and work closely with internal and external stakeholders throughout the customer's BrowserStack product evaluation process.

Desired experience:
- You must have the skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to meet the expectations of this role, with 10–15 years of engineering experience in the B2B SaaS space being a plus.
- Prior experience as an Automation Test Manager or Lead, particularly with hands-on expertise in Selenium, would be highly preferred.
- Experience in Solutions Engineering, Pre-Sales, or Consulting roles with a technical background would also be considered as well.
- Client interaction experience is a must.
- Experience in people management, including hiring, mentoring, conducting performance reviews, setting goals, and driving team growth is a must.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline. Familiarity with Agile software development and deployment methodologies, as well as the modern Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), associated toolsets, and best practices.
- Hands-on knowledge of one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Ruby, JavaScript).
- Proficiency with development tools and IDEs (Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, Visual Studio, Maven, Git).
- Experience building or maintaining automation frameworks (JUnit/NUnit, TestNG, Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, NightWatchJS, WebDriverIO).
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity, Azure DevOps).
- Understanding of networking and security protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, VPNs, IPsec, firewalls).
- Disciplined self-starter who does whatever it takes to succeed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on improving collaboration in a fast-paced, high-dynamic team environment.
What will you do?
- Manage and Lead CE teams, conduct performance reviews, and handle internal or external escalations.
- Spearhead initiatives to scale the Customer Engineering practice. e.g. simplifying processes and building workflows for efficient external and internal coordination, creating reusable technical or process artifacts, etc.
- Be the architect for the customer’s end-to-end technical evaluation of BrowserStack; deliver on the revenue plan with the account team; develop strong relationships with engineering and QA teams at all levels within the customer organization, becoming their trusted advisor
- Enable the team to lead pre-sales engineering activities including technical discovery, RFP responses, technical value proposition, architectural guidance, sales support, and ongoing customer relationships
- Enable team to design and lead comprehensive discovery sessions in the sales cycle – mapping out the prospect’s unique workflows, technical architecture, and organizational goals – leading to a clear understanding of the BrowserStack’s value proposition in the customer’s evaluation; design and conduct comprehensive solution demonstrations
- Devise innovative technical approaches/solutions to enable customers to succeed with BrowserStack.
- Work with cross-functional product & engineering teams, learn & develop different technologies as per the customer needs. This involves programming, test automation frameworks, CI tools, security, networks, etc.
- Develop a strong understanding of our technology portfolio and the competitive landscape for web apps, mobile apps and visual testing solutions to strategically position the BrowserStack products, based on customer's use cases.
- Work as a bridge between Customer and Product & Engineering teams, Capture technical product requirements and feedback from customers and relay it to the product with relevant market insights to enhance the product.
