We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive
Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks including journal entries, invoice processing, payroll support, bank reconciliations, and month-end closings. You will also assist with financial reporting, internal controls, and audits.Duties and Essential Job Functions:General Accounting
- Maintain accurate and timely records of routine and complex journal entries
- Record sales and purchase invoices including coding, deferrals, and reconciliation
- Monitor and prepare monthly sales work-in-progress positions
- Assist with Netherlands payroll procedures and controls
- Prepare and record monthly payroll journal entries
- Review and process employee reimbursement claims
- Record and reconcile bank transactions
- Monitor and prepare outgoing payments within company guidelines
- Assist with intercompany transfer pricing and re-charge transactions
- Perform month-end and quarter-end closing procedures
- Perform monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Assist with internal and external audit as required.
Reporting & Analysis
- Assist with monthly financial reports and analysis under company guidelines and schedules
- Assist with bi-weekly cash forecast reports and analysis
- Prepare and reconcile details for consolidated revenue report
- Prepare various financial reports as assigned
- Evaluate and understand accounting processes to signal errors, deficiencies, or non-compliance.
Miscellaneous
- Provide backup support to accounting team members as required
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- MBO/HBO education and mentality with focus on financial administration or accounting.
Knowledge and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years accounting experience is required
- Experience and familiarity with internal control compliance are required
- Experience and familiarity with Afas financial accounting and HR systems, or other similar large systems, are an asset
- Experience of working in an international oil and gas service company is an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and excellent Excel skills are required
- Proficiency with business English is required, and with business Dutch is an asset.
