PharmaCord is seeking a highly motivated, experienced HR Specialist who has a proven record for handling employee matters of all types with the employee and the company in mind. You might just be the person we need if: you can demonstrate solid HR knowledge by providing examples of your experiences working through tricky employee relations situations; you possess strong verbal and written communication skills, have an ability to prioritize time, demonstrate a sense of urgency, and understand the value of providing amazing customer service!

A typical day in the life of the HR Specialist will include but not be limited to the following:


  • Advising management and employees on the interpretation of policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Working with managers and employees to investigate and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Managing employee data in HRIS to ensure accuracy and timely submission before payroll processing.
  • Responding to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
  • Effectively interpreting FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Assisting with the open enrollment process, as well as ongoing new hire benefit enrollments.
  • Preparing reports and analyzing data for information reporting.
  • Overseeing the unemployment process including timely responses to claims.
  • Recommending new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Serving as a resource to managers and employees across the company.
  • Leading special projects related to employee engagement, leader empowerment, benefits, wellness, etc.
  • Assisting in recruiting during high-volume hiring including, but not limited to, sourcing and outreach, working with marketing, scheduling interviews, and following up with candidates.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline required
  • 6 months - 2 years of experience in HR role is required
  • Experience with employee relations, absence management and HRIS systems (Ceridian Dayforce experience a plus)
  • Must be well-versed in current labor laws to ensure compliance
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft products (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
  • Experience administering benefits and other onboarding steps strongly preferred
  • We are located in the River Ridge Commerce Center at 150 Hilton Drive, Jeffersonville, IN. You must be willing to work in this location; PharmaCord does reimburse for tolls if applicable, at the frequent user rate. This rate is applied after 40 trips per month (valued at $678.60 per year)

Physical Demands & Work Environment:


  • This is a full-time exempt position.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to type 35 WPM with 97% accuracy.
  • Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
