Job Duties:
Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, tool & dies and controls using computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.Produce detailed drawings for parts, assemblies, and weldments.Make any necessary changes to existing models or drawings.Transforms initial rough product designs or sketches into working models and documents.Entering and maintaining engineering data for all physical parts per company and industry standards.Create BOM’s in excel as per drawings.Online research for specifications on purchased parts.Collaborate with engineers to help develop concept drawings and details.Modify designs based on comments and reviews from management and clients.Assist engineer/designer with documentation of sheet metal products.Ensure all layouts and designs are compliant with industry codes and standards.Work collaboratively with sheet metal, production, welding, engineering, and assembly departments. Perform other duties as assigned.Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work 5 days a week 8am-5pm. (not a remote position)
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Must be able to work independently and part of a team.
- Adaptability to work efficiently and effectively daily under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to use measurement tools such as calipers.
- Excellent technical skills – AutoCAD proficiency.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong creative design, problem solving, critical thinking and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Solidworks a plus.
- Local candidates only.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
Experience
- 1+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Drafter preferred.
- Drafting experience in HVAC and Fire Protection systems preferred.
Physical Requirements – Essential
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, twist, and turn for long periods of time (Varied based on daily tasks)
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 25 lbs such as files, stacks of paper, and other materials.
- Strength, dexterity, coordination, and vision to use keyboard and computer monitor for prolonged periods of time.
