Technical Writer | About You
As a Technical Writer, you are responsible for turning complex information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. You have a strong foundation in writing, supported by coursework or hands-on experience, and you're eager to grow your skills in a professional setting. You are detail-oriented, curious, and comfortable collaborating with technical teams to ensure information is accurate and easy to understand.
Technical Writer | Day-to-Day
- Create and maintain user manuals, how-to guides, FAQs, and internal documentation.
- Work closely with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to gather information.
- Edit and format content for clarity, consistency, and tone.
- Help organize and manage a documentation library using standard tools (e.g., Google Docs, Confluence, or Markdown-based platforms).
- Assist with proofreading and reviewing existing documentation to ensure accuracy and usability.
Technical Writer | Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field.
- Coursework or project experience in technical writing, journalism, or professional communication.
- Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to explain complex ideas clearly and simply.
- Familiarity with documentation tools like Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or Markdown (bonus for tools like Confluence, GitHub, or Adobe Acrobat).
