Role Overview
Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, the People & Culture Co-op student will engage in a variety of assignments that are both educational and impactful, supporting the operational success of the organization. This role emphasizes hands-on learning while contributing meaningful results across key HR functions.Responsibilities:Recruitment Support:· Assist with posting job openings and screening resumes.· Schedule interviews and coordinate communication with candidates.· Help implement strategies to attract diverse and qualified talent.On- & Offboarding:· Prepare onboarding materials and assist with new hire orientations.· Ensure completion of necessary forms and documentation.· Coordinate offboarding logistics, including exit interviews and systems access.HRIS & Employee Records:· Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS system (e.g., BambooHR).· Support data entry and reporting related to employee lifecycle activities.· Audit personnel files to ensure compliance and completeness.Employee Engagement & Communication:· Assist in organizing employee events, engagement activities, and wellness initiatives.· Support internal communication efforts, such as newsletters and announcements.· Conduct surveys and compile feedback for HR initiatives.Compliance & Policy:· Ensure employee files and documentation are up to date and legally compliant.· Assist in researching HR policies and best practices.Cross Department Collaboration:· Coordinate with payroll, IT, facilities, and other departments to ensure smooth employee experience.Special Projects:· Participate in or lead short-term HR projects as assigned.· Contribute to process improvements and HR program development.Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Human Resources, Business, or related degree program.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., BambooHR) is a plus.
- Able to commit to working at least 20 hours / week from June to December 2025 (hybrid, one - two days in the office).
