Are you ready to be at the forefront of the clean energy revolution? MetOx International, Inc. is seeking a Production Technician I to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in reshaping the future of power generation and distribution.
Based at our global headquarters in Houston, TX, the Production Technician II will operate specialized equipment that manufactures, processes, and packages high value quality products. Working in the clean HVAC controlled high tech manufacturing environment, the Production Technician II will use sophisticated control systems that are part of the equipment to dial in the recipe, monitor, and operate several pieces of automated equipment. The Production Technician II will develop skills and knowledge about how that equipment performs that will make them a key resource in minimizing any equipment disruption and a “go to” source of insight for engineers who are designing next generation equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Production
- Operate specialized equipment according to standard operating procedures
- Implement safe work practices and participate in a proactive safety culture to ensure the safety of employees, the public, and the environment
- Complete training requirements and obtain certifications for assigned equipment
- Conduct regular inspections of facility area and equipment
- Maintain clean and organized work areas by using 5S methodology
- Perform minor facility repairs and empty trash as needed
- Perform basic maintenance activities according to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) schedules
- Work flexible hours and schedules to achieve manufacturing objectives
- Assist in receiving goods, including gas cylinders and dewar deliveries
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma OR GED and technical course work
- 2 years of experience in manufacturing environment or mechanical support role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in applied science or relevant field
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Basic computer skills (MS Word and Excel)
- Ability to log actions in tool or process history
- Responsible, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks under stressful or hazardous conditions
- Effective verbal and written communication with various stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, less defined environment
- Proactive and efficient task completion
- Problem-solving skills for machinery adjustments
- Basic maintenance activities or arranging for equipment maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach
- Ability to adhere to 5S practices and making improvement recommendations
- Required to serve on the Emergency Response Team
Physical Demands:
Frequent standing, walking, reaching with arms, using hands, talking, and hearing. Some sitting, climbing, stooping, crawling, or crouching will be needed. Frequent lifting/carrying/moving of up to 10 pounds will be needed and, in some instances, lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds will be required, manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., apply up to 100-foot pounds of torque. The ability to adjust vision focus from near to far and peripheral is needed as well as the ability to distinguish the difference in colors.
Technicians must be clean-shaven to successfully complete the Fit Test and are required to maintain this grooming standard upon their start date.
