Senior Manager of Transportation and Logisitics

At District Photo, our employees are the heart of our company. We are seeking a Senior Manager of Transportation and Logistics in our Louisville factory.

The Manager of Corporate Logistics is responsible for the planning, management, and execution of DPI enterprise logistics operations in the most efficient and effective way. Coordinating with Sales & Marketing, DPI Customer Service, IT & API teams, Purchasing, Production, Warehouse, and external customers to provide forward and reverse logistical support to increase overall customer satisfaction. Responsible for the planning and implementation of logistics strategies, guidelines, and procedures which support DPI short and long-term business needs.

Also responsible for auditing all freight invoices and analyzing the entire company freight spend. This position provides logistics cost modeling support and focuses on optimization of costs while providing a high level of communication throughout the company.  

· Develop, build, and maintain positive relationships with internal cross functional teams, external vendors, and carriers.· Work extensively with a multi-carrier shipping software company for high-volume shipping order fulfilment.· Manage and configure a vastly customized shipping system through the shipping software platform, InfoShip/Vx, for four high-volume shipping environments.· Manage the onboarding process of new carrier accounts for all respected customers.· Work with DPI and customer carriers to deliver products to internal and external customers. · Serve as the primary liaison with the carriers and shipping/warehouse teams.· Resolve carrier-related issues for inbound and outbound shipments.· Ensure warehouse and shipping teams are equipped with carrier equipment and supplies.· Execute and assist in annual carrier contract negotiations with various carriers.· Drive ad-hoc carrier contract negotiations and assist in calculation of any new customer pricing requests. · Analyze and compare rates between multiple carriers with comparable service levels to create the most optimal shipping routing rules. · Audit incoming freight invoices and approve/reject/modify as needed.· Audit carrier invoices for accuracy and contract compliance.· Audit small parcel freight invoicing to discover inaccurate shipping charges and dispute with the carriers accordingly.· Provide cost avoidance through freight invoice auditing and billing discrepancies.· Ensuring accuracy for all freight spend and finding ways to minimize the overall freight operating cost.· Assist internal teams with cost discrepancies investigation and freight quotes.· Coordinate with carriers, CSRs, and accounting to mitigate any claims, damages, lost shipments, etc.· Perform and provide critical data support for annual and ad-hoc freight related contract negotiations.· Manage partnership with 3PL freight provider.· Integrate with the 3PL freight provider’s customer order platform and assist internal teams with usage. · Optimization of LTL and TL order requests from our internal teams and external vendors.· Review LTL and TL data analytics through custom BI reporting to manage cost and efficiency.· Provide mediation between our 3PL partnership and internal teams for order management, cost approvals, invoice auditing, and customer support.· Optimize the best global logistics options for international Air and Sea, freight shipping.· Work closely with Finance/Accounting to ensure logistics activities are captured by the Company’s financial system to include reporting of actual vs budget.· Provide clear and concise budgeted variance explanation in a timely manner to Finance and upper management. · Work directly with Sales and the API team to implement customer markups by carrier and schedules based on volume levels.· Work closely with Sales and Operations Management teams to ensure efficient and timely support of both customer orders and logistics’ goals/objectives.· Provide hands on assistance for home facility shipping teams, specifically during peak season/ high volume months.· Understand and make planning adjustments related to sales and operations execution.· Support our manufacturing teams through development and integration of IT and API enhancements to our Logistics technology, bringing internal process simplification and external customer value.· Master the complexity of our current technology and identify areas to consolidate, simplify, and improve.· Work with sales, production, IT, and engineering on deployment of the right shipping box and carrier mix.· Assist procurement and product teams in packaging optimization for existing and new products. · Drive and complete various logistics related projects concurrently. · Provide day-to-day shipping system related technical support and resolution.· Interpret and process shipping data to provide recommendations to enhance our customer outcomes.

 · Provide quotes and estimated shipping cost evaluations to our Sales and Customer Service teams at the request of our customers.· Responsible for writing, updating, and maintaining various logistics related SOPs.· Monitor and enforce DPI export trade compliance matters. · Provide logistics subject matter expertise to internal and external customers.· Provide training and continuous support for DPI’s shipping systems. · Continuously find ways of reducing shipping costs for DPI and improving service to our customers.

· Familiar with global logistics and supply chain network modeling. · Experience in transportation routing and order management systems (Progistics/ConnectShip, Infoship, ZenSmart, SEQ, MercuryGate, SAP, Oracle, SQL, etc.).  · Strong quantitative and analytical skills· Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and MS PowerPoint. · Self-managed and collaborative with other logistics team members.· Savvy at leveraging data in analysis and decision-making and an expert in analyzing and working with large amounts of data.· Thrive in a fast-paced environment and can manage/prioritize multiple projects.· Strategic thinking results in new ideas that drive the business forward.· Ability to drive results at all levels, regardless of reporting structures.· Excellent written and verbal communication and can clearly and concisely present information in an engaging way to internal and external members.
