POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES


:

  • Work with a team of 3-4 technicians, continually working to consistently achieve performance objectives in a safe work environment.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and operation of all production equipment and plant systems.
  • Maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, supplies and maintenance history of plant equipment.
  • Maintain sanitation and housekeeping at expected levels at all times.
  • Maintain responsibility for a three shift operation.
  • Performs maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and other physical structures in accordance with SOPs, internal requirements, manufacturer specifications, and safety policies.
  • Paints structures, drywall, and plaster; performs masonry work; and repairs plumbing fixtures and woodwork.
  • Conducts repairs on tools and equipment. Maintains and installs electrical systems and fixtures, including measuring, cutting, threading, bonding, assembling, and installing electrical conduit.
  • Utilizes hand and power tools and ensures all tools and equipment are properly maintained and repaired.
  • Participate in “hands-on” work as needed.
  • Other duties and projects as required.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:


  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician within a manufacturing facility having exposure to the repair and maintenance of manufacturing and facility equipment.
  • Prior experience with CMMS.
  • Preferred experience with Pitney Bowes, Bell and Howell, and bulk printing equipment.
  • Proficient (beyond basic skills) with Microsoft Excel and strong general functional computer skills (SAP system experience is highly preferable). 
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, controls, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • When performing “hands-on” work as needed, must be able to perform the physical demands of the position.  These physical demands include:
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, grasping, typing, reading, talking and hearing.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
  • Frequent lifting and or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • When performing “hands-on” work as needed, must be able to work within the work environment characteristics experienced in the facilities which may include:
  • Various forms of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are at times required and may include but are not limited to: hearing and eye protection, protective suits, harness with shock restraint, etc.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasionally to fumes or airborne particulates.
  • Exposure to, at time, a loud noise level.
  • Results focused with an analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Able to work any shift in a three shift operation as well as overtime as required.
  • Strong organizational, people management/team building, leadership and communication skills.
  • Interested and capable of growing into positions of greater responsibility.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual is required to perform these demands:
  • · Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up 55 pounds.
  • · Standing for extended periods, typically 8-12 hours per shift.
  • · Repetitive movements, including bending, reaching, twisting, and kneeling.
  • · Exposure to loud noise and vibration.
