System Administrator, Level 1

What You Will DoAs a System Administrator, Level 1 you will be responsible for maintaining and deploying mission-critical voice and network systems. Your role will involve system configuration, hardware deployment, and technical documentation to ensure optimal system performance and compliance with user and mission requirements. You will also play a key role in evaluating emerging hardware technologies and providing system-level input to broader infrastructure solutions.Key Responsibilities


  • Provide both preventative and remedial maintenance for voice and network system hardware
  • Deploy, install, implement, and configure end-user devices, servers, networking gear, and peripheral equipment
  • Conduct site surveys and develop comprehensive Technical Design Packages and engineering plans
  • Analyze documented and derived system requirements to prepare hardware specifications
  • Document configurations, perform site testing, and prepare installation reports
  • Identify and resolve system issues, ensuring user requirements are met
  • Evaluate existing and emerging hardware technologies and develop related recommendations
  • Collaborate with project managers, security teams, and help desk personnel to manage technical projects and solve system-related issues

Required Skills and Qualifications


  • Demonstrated experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
  • Working knowledge of network configuration and hardware integration
  • Familiarity with Land Mobile Radio (LMR), e911 systems, and video teleconferencing technologies is a plus
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to coordinate across departments and lead system administration efforts in complex environments

Education and Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a System Administrator supporting programs of similar scope and complexity
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an additional five (5) years of relevant experience may be substituted

Certifications


  • Required: DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, SSCP, GSEC, or equivalent

Clearance Requirement:


  • Must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance to be considered for this role.
