Hardware Technician, Level 1

What You Will Do


As aHardware Technician, Level 1, you will provide hands-on support for video teleconferencing (VTC) systems and associated end-user devices. You will be responsible for the installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware at customer or field locations to ensure uninterrupted communication services. Your role will be critical in maintaining system functionality, user satisfaction, and overall mission success.

Key Responsibilities


  • Install, configure, operate, and maintain VTC systems and end-user hardware such as PCs, thin clients, monitors, phones, printers, and radios
  • Troubleshoot and repair VTC-related hardware and software issues on-site and remotely
  • Perform technical maintenance and support on integrated systems and subsystems
  • Install and configure software applications as required for VTC and supporting devices
  • Interpret technical manuals and schematics to resolve complex issues
  • Prioritize tasks effectively while managing multiple support requests
  • Provide customer-facing support with a focus on professionalism and problem resolution
  • Maintain compliance with organizational security policies and procedures

Required Skills and Qualifications


  • Proficiency in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of VTC equipment and associated technologies
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory policies and secure configurations
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Skilled in remote support and customer service best practices
  • Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and time-management skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users

Education and Experience


Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience
  • Associate’s degree with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience

Certifications


  • Required: DoD 8570 IAT Level I certification (e.g., A+ CE, Network+ CE, or equivalent)

Clearance Requirement:


  • Must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance to be considered for this role.
