Trueline is seeking an Estimator to join their team. This role is central to the successful development of accurate and competitive bids for a wide variety of construction projects.
What You’ll Do as the Estimator:
- Organize and manage all bid-related documentation, including drawings, specs, RFIs, and reports, across internal systems and cloud-based platforms
- Keep project folders up-to-date with revised documents throughout the bidding lifecycle
- Coordinate the production of bid materials, using in-house or third-party reprographics as needed
- Analyze project plans to identify required scopes, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Issue and manage Invitations to Bid with the appropriate trades and documentation
- Track subcontractor and supplier participation to ensure complete and timely bid coverage
- Facilitate site visits with clients and subcontractors to gather project-specific information
- Generate detailed estimates for general conditions, winter logistics, and overall project duration
- Build and maintain preliminary project schedules to support estimating assumptions
- Create accurate quantity take-offs and material breakdowns for all relevant trades
- Prepare and issue internal and external RFIs; follow up to ensure timely responses
- Develop bid comparison spreadsheets, accounting for scope gaps, clarifications, and pricing anomalies
- Confirm subcontractor qualifications, including insurance, manpower availability, references, and performance history
- Identify and validate local tax requirements and subcontractor payment terms
- Communicate clearly with all stakeholders, including clients, design teams, and trade partners, throughout the bid process
- Maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients to support ongoing collaboration and future opportunities
Must-Haves as the Estimator:
- Strong experience with commercial or civil construction estimating
- Working knowledge of bid document workflows and digital file management systems
- Proficient in analyzing drawings, specs, and bid packages across various trades
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Clear and consistent communication style, both verbal and written
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating tools
- Professionalism and the ability to build and maintain strong industry relationships
Nice-To-Haves as the Estimator:
- Familiarity with digital construction platforms (e.g., Dropbox, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar)
