Quality Inspector – PCBA

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IPC standards and be skilled in identifying defects, verifying workmanship, and ensuring compliance with customer and industry specifications.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform visual and mechanical inspections of PCBAs using microscopes, magnifiers, and other inspection tools
- Verify component placement, soldering, polarity, and labeling according to IPC-A-610 standards
- Inspect surface mount (SMT) and through-hole solder joints for quality and conformance
- Document inspection results, discrepancies, and nonconformities using internal quality systems
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence
- Perform first article inspections, in-process checks, and final quality audits
- Ensure all materials and assemblies meet customer specifications and internal quality standards
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) efforts
- Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and follow all safety protocols
- Assist with calibration and care of inspection tools and equipment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in electronics or quality preferred
- 2+ years of experience inspecting PCBAs in an electronics manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and other relevant quality standards (certification a plus)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and work instructions
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP or quality management systems
