About the position:
The Vice President, Sales (Public Sector) will be a key leadership role, responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy to penetrate and expand our presence within the public sector ( US Federal, State, Local Government, and Education). This role requires a deep understanding of the public sector procurement process, strong relationships within government agencies, and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets. You will lead a team of sales professionals, fostering their growth and development while driving revenue growth and market share.
Responsibilities:
- Public Sector Sales Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue growth goals in the public sector markets. Collaborate with marketing, product development, and other internal teams to ensure alignment and maximize sales effectiveness for unique public sector needs and requirements
- Team Leadership: Staff, lead, manage, and develop a high-performing team of experienced sales professionals, including account executives, business development representatives, and proposals specialists.
- Customer Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with public sector (federal, state, local government, and education) customers, understanding their needs and tailoring solutions to meet those needs.
- Opportunity Management and Development: Navigate complex public sector procurement processes, including RFPs, RFQs, and contract negotiations.
- Contract Negotiation and Execution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to negotiate and execute contracts, ensuring timely and seamless onboarding processes.
- Market Intelligence and Analysis: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes that impact the public sector sales strategy.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes, procedures, and tools to optimize performance and productivity.
Requirements:
- 15+ years Executive Sales leadership experience in US Public Sector sales
- Successful track record selling security and networking technologies including network security technologies such as Proxies, Next Gen Firewalls, SSL/IPSec, VPN’s, SSO, DLP and Encryption gateway to the public sector market.
- Verifiable track record of exceeding quota
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills , with ability to build strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with ability to develop and execute complex sales strategies
- Strong business acumen, including financial management, contract negotiation, and operational leadership
- Knowledge of federal regulations , policies, and procedures governing procurement processes
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, retain, and motivate sales teams
Education:
- Bachelor Degree/MBA preferred
