WHAT YOU WILL DO:
We are looking for a skilled IT Business Analyst specializing in POS Systems to collaborate with and, when appropriate, take the lead on cross-functional teams and vendor partnerships to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with shared goals and agile methodologies, including both Kanban and Scrum. Responsibilities include conducting system, application, and data analysis, as well as contributing to the design, testing, and support of user and data interfaces. The role also involves guiding the technical design and configuration of Point of Sale (POS) systems, working closely with business stakeholders, analysts, infrastructure teams, and developers to identify, assess, and prioritize technology needs.
Ultimately, the Systems Analyst will support the development and implementation of innovative POS solutions within Costco's retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (technical and non-technical) to define, design, and implement functional system requirements based on input from Product Owners, Architects, and Engineers, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and architecture guidelines.
- Conduct system, application, and data analysis to support the development and configuration of Point of Sale (POS) applications, including installation, testing, and maintenance, while addressing performance, scalability, and functional requirements.
- Lead and support testing efforts by creating test data, developing test scripts, and executing unit, integration, performance, and system testing, ensuring traceability to requirements and proper documentation of results.
- Identify improvement opportunities (functional and non-functional) and proactively resolves technical issues, often anticipating risks and developing viable solutions in coordination with the delivery team.
- Develop technical specifications by translating business and functional requirements into macro and micro designs, collaborating with development and infrastructure teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Manage implementation of configurations across systems and interfaces, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and best practices.
- Mentor team members and partners with stakeholders including vendors, project managers, and business units to support project initiation, scope definition, and solution delivery.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation related to technical designs, configurations, release planning, deployment, and training, while promoting adherence to governance, standards, and quality practices.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:
- Extensive POS Platform Experience:Over 4 years of hands-on experience with Toshiba SKY/4690 OS, self-checkout systems, and the Toshiba Elevate platform, along with 1–2 years working with the Toshiba Elera platform.
- Hardware & Configuration Management:Proven experience managing POS register hardware at an enterprise scale, including firmware, BIOS, and configuration updates using remote enterprise tools.
- Technical Proficiency Across Systems:Strong background in database support, cloud solutions (GCP, Azure), and both integrated and semi-integrated payment systems, with a solid understanding of industry compliance standards such as PCI, SOX, and data governance.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, analyze systems, and deliver reliable, high-quality solutions with a strong attention to detail.
- Leadership & Collaboration:Adept at leading cross-functional teams, mentoring peers, and effectively communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently or collaboratively.
- Adaptability & Work Ethic:Committed to excellence with a strong work ethic, excellent time management skills, and flexibility to support off-hours and 24/7 on-call responsibilities as needed.
WE'D BE THRILLED IF YOU HAVE:
- Strong understanding of modern Point of Sale (POS) systems, including emerging technologies and industry standards, with proven ability to adapt to a rapidly evolving retail technology landscape.
- Well-versed in Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, with practical experience applying agile principles, frameworks, and best practices in cross-functional product development environments.
- Familiar with core retail business functions, such as buying, membership, and front-end operations, and how technology supports and enhances these processes.
- Proficient in Google Workspace tools, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Gmail, for collaboration, documentation, and productivity.
WHAT WE OFFER:
- Competitive compensation with opportunities for additional incentives. The annual salary range for this role is $145,000-$175,000.
LOCATION:
This role requires on-site presence at our client's location in Issaquah, WA.
