Optiom is currently looking for candidates to grow the IT team in Calgary. supporting and optimizing core systems, infrastructure, and operations. You'll play a key part in maintaining secure, reliable technology environments while collaborating across teams to drive efficiency and innovation. This is a full-time, permanent position based in our downtown Calgary office.What will you do?
- Assist in research and implementation of new information systems and software tool stacks.
- Maintain and support IT security infrastructure (software and hardware).
- Ensure reliability and up-time of business-critical applications and services.
- Configure and maintain Microsoft infrastructure tools (Exchange, Azure, Entra ID, Networking).
- Provide end-user support, equipment provisioning, and hardware procurement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical incidents across various platforms.
- Document technical procedures, incidents, and resolutions for the team.
- Deliver IT project outcomes within assigned timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand technological needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Drive automation and integration of enterprise systems for operational efficiency.
- Support the IT team during critical incidents and system outages.
- Offer proactive solutions to resolve underlying system inefficiencies before they escalate.
What do you need to succeed?
- 5+ years of professional IT support experience.
- Strong communication skills with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and end-user support.
- Team-oriented, punctual, reliable, and committed to going above and beyond when needed.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, prioritize tasks, and coordinate effectively.
- Skilled in documenting issues, solutions, and key information for team use.
- Comfortable providing remote support via email, phone, and other tools.

- Proficient in writing and communicating clear, user-friendly instructions.
