We are hiring a Senior Planner/Buyer.Are you a highly organised and analytical supply chain professional with a passion for precision and performance? We're looking for a talented Senior Planner/Buyer to join our team and help drive excellence across planning, purchasing and material control functions.

Purpose of the Role


You’ll play a critical role within our Value Stream and Supply Chain teams, ensuring our production operations, engineering, QA, and customer service departments are supported with accurate planning and timely material availability. This role blends procurement, planning, and supplier management to maintain optimal inventory levels while ensuring on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Be Doing


  • Raise purchase orders and manage supplier relationships to ensure timely material availability.
  • Monitor MRP systems for accuracy and respond to exceptions.
  • Manage stock levels, prevent obsolescence, and ensure cost-effective procurement.
  • Maintain purchase orders, pricing, and resolve invoice queries.
  • Drive continuous improvement with suppliers in cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Create daily production plans and customer service reports.
  • Support cross-functional meetings and proactively manage capacity and material flow.
  • Coordinate engineering changes and support operations as required.
  • Uphold company policies, health and safety practices, and foster a positive team culture.

Qualifications & Skills


  • Degree or HNC in Engineering (or 5+ years relevant experience)
  • CIPS membership or progression toward certification preferred
  • 2+ years in Supply Chain Planning & Purchasing
  • 5+ years in Planning/Materials Control
  • ERP/MRP expertise (preferably IFS)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Results-driven, adaptable, and customer-focused mindset
