Purpose
:
Primarily responsible for the preparation of reporting to senior management, the board of directors, the SEC, Office of Finance and Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) with a focus on compliance with internal and external requirements for documentation and controls. The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by persons assigned to the job. Specific Responsibilities
:
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports on Form 10-Q/K, including XBRL. Prepare and/or coordinate preparation of detailed schedules supporting footnote disclosures and MD&A.
- Prepare and/or coordinate preparation of data for reporting to senior management, the Office of Finance and FHFA, including the completion of schedules required to support the Bank’s board reporting process.
- Assist in updating the Bank’s accounting policies.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with GAAP, FHFA directives, Sarbanes-Oxley internal control requirements and the Bank’s accounting policies. Includes complete, accurate and timely performance of assigned controls.
- Maintain accurate and complete procedures for assigned areas.
- Work with the accounting team and others in the Bank to understand the impact of new accounting standards and financial instruments on internal/external reporting.
- Continuously find ways to learn and strengthen processes to minimize time requirements.
- Serve on FHLBank System working groups, as appropriate.
- Assist in resolving inquiries from the external auditors, internal auditors, and FHFA examiners, as appropriate.
- Proactively work with management and peers to achieve department and Bank strategic initiatives.
- Complete special projects, as assigned.
- Provide backup support for various functions, as assigned.

Position Requirements
:
- B.S. in Accounting. Financial institution accounting or reporting experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve reporting concerns through automated or manual procedures.
- Developing technology skills, with the drive and curiosity to learn and implement new tools to enhance existing processes (ex. macros, scripting, robotic process automation, relational databases).
- Developing knowledge of Microsoft Suite Office products.
- Developing written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure while adhering to strict deadlines.
- Ability to set priorities and organize daily workflow. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work full-time. Adheres to workplace rules and normal working hours. Some overtime may be required.
- Must not have been convicted on any civil or criminal charge that would suggest a risk to Bank security.
- Ability to uphold and model the Bank’s Guiding Principles.
Hiring Range: $72,000 - $84,000Hiring ranges reflect the base salary that the Bank reasonably expects to pay for a given role and is not inclusive of annual incentive award opportunities, retirement benefits or the value of other health and welfare or other ancillary benefits. We consider many factors when determining base salaries such as individual background and experience, the competitive environment, education, particular skill set(s), and industry and institutional knowledge.
