The Role
As our first dedicated Sales Development Representative, you’ll be the tip of the spear for outbound growth -researching, qualifying, and booking meetings with data-savvy buyers (engineering, analytics, and platform teams). You’ll work side-by-side with the CEO and founding marketer, experiment with creative outreach approaches and tools, and build the SDR playbook that future reps will follow.
What You’ll Do
- Hunt: Identify high-potential accounts that would benefit from streaming over batch.
- Prospect: Craft personalized sequences across email, LinkedIn, Slack communities, and the occasional meme-powered pattern interrupt.
- Qualify: Run crisp discovery calls to confirm pain, timeline, and technical fit before handing off to AE/founder.
- Iterate: Track conversion metrics, share insight with marketing, and refine messaging fast.
- Collaborate: Feed customer intel into content, events, and product roadmap.
- Represent: Be the first human touch for prospects, at meet-ups, virtual demos, and industry conferences.
You Might Be a Fit If
- Outbound pro: 1-3 years in SDR/BDR or quota-carrying sales, ideally selling data infra, DevTools, or SaaS to technical buyers.
- Technical curiosity: You don’t need to be a data engineer, but you can speak the lingo (ETL, CDC, SQL, Kafka) and love learning more.
- Creative hustle: Comfortable experimenting with humor, GIFs, and unconventional tactics to stand out against bigger budgets.
- Metrics driven: You live in HubSpot dashboards and know your reply, conversion, and meeting-set rates.
- Startup energy: You thrive in ambiguity, move quickly, and own results without hand-holding.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience selling usage-based or PLG-friendly products.
- Familiarity with modern data stack tools (Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, etc.).
- Previous success targeting mid-market to enterprise accounts.
