Health Care for the Homeless, we believe housing is health care. We’re seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Housing Services Program Assistant to support our Housing Services team in creating safe, stable housing solutions for individuals experiencing homelessness.
About the Role
As a vital member of our team, the Housing Services Program Assistant will provide administrative and representative payee support, ensuring accurate data management, timely rent payments, and client support through complex paperwork. You'll be at the heart of our housing mission, communicating with clients, landlords, and partners to help clients secure and maintain housing.
What You’ll Do
- Enter and manage data for reporting and compliance
- Coordinate with landlords and clients throughout the lease-up process
- Support the administration of rental subsidies and representative payee budgets
- Resolve rent and housing-related issues
- Track inspections, lease signings, and material resource distribution
- Manage small projects and maintain filing and documentation systems
What We’re Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred
- At least 2 years of office experience and familiarity with bookkeeping or accounting
- Comfortable using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicle during work hours
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Experience working with vulnerable populations and commitment to equity
- A flexible, proactive, and compassionate approach
